چکیده

We propose that sorting be considered an important benchmark for both scientific and commercial applications of supercomputers. The purpose of a supercomputer benchmark is to exercise various system components in an effort to measure important performance characteristics. In the past numerous benchmarks have been defined in an effort to measure the performance issues associated with numeric computing. These benchmarks stressed arithmetic operations (in particular, floating-point arithmetic). In recent years supercomputers manufactures have started to look closer at non-numeric processing tasks, such as databases and information retrieval. Tile ability to operate on large amounts of non-numeric data will be crucial in tile future. This paper discusses the appropriateness of sorting as a benchmark for non-numeric computing tasks. The paper describes previous work in this area and defines a set of architecture independent sorting benchmarks. 1School of Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA 15213. Fluorescent Contrast agent Based on Graphene Quantum Dots Decorated Mesoporous Silica Nanoparticles for Detecting and Sorting Cancer Cells

Background and Objectives: The inability of classic fluorescence-activated cell sorting to single cancer cell sorting is one of the most significant drawbacks of this method. The sorting of cancer cells in microdroplets significantly influences our ability to analyze cancer cell proteins. Material and Methods: We adapted a developed microfluidic device as a 3D in vitro model to sorted MCF-7 c...

A Brief Look into Spike Sorting Methods

Spike sorting is a class of techniques used in the analysis of electrophysiological data. Studying the dynamics of neural activity via electrical recording relies on the ability to detect and sort neural spikes recorded from a number of neurons by the same electrode. This article reviews methods for detecting and classifying action potentials, a problem commonly referred to as spike sorting.

Investigating levels of aflatoxin B1 exposure through the settled dust in the working environment in workers of the dry and wet household waste sorting of the recycling industry

Background & Aim: Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) acts as a genotoxic, cytotoxic, and a potential hepatocarcinogen agent. Any contact with aflatoxins is a main threat to workers in the waste management industry. On the other hand, just a few studies have investigated occupational exposure to mycotoxins in the aforementioned industry. In this study, the exposure level of workers to dust and AFB1 has been in...
